Brief history

The Schwarzenburg transmitter site started broadcasting in 1940 with two 25 kW transmitters and several rhombic antennas. In 1946 a 100 kW transmitter was added. A multi-beam courting antenna array was built and started operating in 1954 allowing transmissions on 49, 41, 31, 25, 19, 16 and 13 m bands. In 1964 two 100 kW transmitters were added and in 1966 two extra 250 kW transmitters were added as well. This transmitter has been switched off and dismantled in 1998.
